Delabs Games, a new Web3 gaming venture by South Korean mobile game powerhouse 4:33 Creative Lab, is making its debut on the Polygon network.

Delabs Games will draw from the creative and business acumen of longtime gaming leaders to hypercharge the Polygon gaming ecosystem. By releasing games that are actually fun, Delabs Games plans to advance decentralized gaming by integrating blockchain-specific dynamics across various levels of development: from on-chain interoperability for digital assets, to decentralized governance for game design–the space is ripe for innovation.

Joonmo Kwon (JMK), who as the CEO of free-to-play giant Nexon oversaw launches of blockbuster titles such as Crazyracing Kartrider, founded 4:33 Creative Lab in Seoul in 2009. Since then, the studio published over 20 games that have been downloaded over 250 million times worldwide and include some of Korea’s most popular titles.

“Delabs Games’ mission is to shake up the decentralized space with its refreshing emphasis on fostering a sense of community and enjoyment, propelling the industry towards the next generation of gaming — Game 3.0,” JMK said.

The first game in production is Rumble Racing Star. This premium blockchain game focuses on interoperability with real utility. NFT holders from y00ts, currently migrating to the Polygon ecosystem, and Goblintown will be able to play as a character from their respective universes.

With a couple other RPG games in production, and dedicated industry veterans developing each project, Delabs is focusing on making the most compelling games possible, while also focusing on Web3-exclusive dynamics. Delabs Games plans to mint their “Delabs Adventure Pass” in April, which will unite all Delabs games with enhanced player experience and added benefits.

Some of the biggest blockchain gaming projects and publishers are already building on the Polygon network, including Ubisoft, Atari, Animoca, Decentraland, Somnium Space, and The Sandbox. With over 220 million unique user addresses, the Polygon ecosystem is home to tens of thousands of decentralized apps and major global enterprises like Robinhood, Stripe and Adobe.

"We’re thrilled to be working with the huge talent behind Delabs Games to help raise the bar on web3 gaming,” said Urvit Goel, Vice President of Global Games & Platform Business Development at Polygon Labs. “By leveraging Polygon's advanced technology, Delabs Games will be able to tap into millions of potential new players and create a thriving community who can enjoy secure, frictionless, and compelling gameplay experiences."
