Katana Foundation Announces Katana Network, Incubated by Polygon Labs and GSR
Katana is a DeFi-first chain designed to align apps, users, and chain revenue, live in private mainnet.

Katana was reverse engineered to deliver what Agglayer needs and DeFi users and builders want most: deep liquidity and real yield.
Incubated by Polygon Labs and GSR, Katana is deployed with the support of Conduit and is a graduate of the Agglayer Breakout Program, an incubator to launch high-impact projects that drive significant activity to Agglayer. GSR brings a decade of experience in institutional crypto markets, while Conduit powers the infrastructure behind the chain’s rollup and sequencing. The Katana Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to helping create the best DeFi experience in the world for all types of users, is leading the development and adoption of Katana.
Katana uses Agglayer as the canonical bridge and VaultBridge for generating real yield. It also becomes the first Agglayer CDK chain to leverage CDK OP Stack—officially kicking off Agglayer’s multistack era. Katana Foundation plans to give back to the Polygon ecosystem with an airdrop of ~15% of KAT tokens to POL stakers, including liquid staking protocols, on Ethereum.
Private mainnet is live with open access coming late June 2025.

Agglayer needs deep liquidity. Katana brings it.
For Agglayer to provide the best unified UX possible, the ecosystem needs deep liquidity.
Katana’s unique design ensures all Agglayer chains can bootstrap deep liquidity, out-of-the-box. It’s a win-win–Katana users can enjoy a more expansive userbase (which helps generates fees for apps), while Agglayer users can tap into Katana’s liquidity.
For Agglayer, this provides users the best experience in the industry. Seamless, deep liquidity, a unified interoperable environment, and a crypto ecosystem that just works.
As a standalone, purpose-built DeFi chain, Katana brings user activity, apps, and network revenue into alignment.
