Celestia’s High-Throughput, Modular DA Layer to Integrate With Polygon CDK in Crypto’s Broadband Moment

The integration of Celestia’s DA solution with Polygon CDK creates an opportunity for Ethereum Layer 2s to dramatically reduce transaction costs by 100x

Celestia’s leading data availability solution in a milestone for blockchain scaling is integrating with Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK), an open source codebase for launching zero knowledge-powered Layer 2 chains for Ethereum.

The integration of Celestia’s out-of-the-box DA layer with the zero knowledge-powered interoperability and unified liquidity made possible by Polygon CDK lowers the barrier for launching high-throughput Layer 2 chains on Ethereum. Early next year, Celestia’s DA solution will be available to developers as an easily-pluggable component among Polygon CDK’s customization options.

“This is the broadband moment for Web3,” said Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal. “The ability to launch a high-throughput ZK-powered Ethereum Layer 2 as easily as deploying a smart contract will do for blockchain adoption what high-speed fiber did for Web2 applications.”

Celestia’s DA layer can already reduce Ethereum L2 transaction fees for end users by more than 100x. As adoption grows, Celestia’s DA layer can scale securely using data availability sampling (DAS) to which any user of a Polygon CDK chain can contribute by running a Celestia light node.

Polygon CDK makes it easy for developers to design and launch ZK L2s on Ethereum and is already used by projects including OKX, Astar, Canto, Gnosis Pay, Palm, and IDEX. In the future, Polygon CDK-deployed chains can be interoperable and unified within a broader web of ZK-powered L2s in the Polygon CDK ecosystem.
