Creators on Adobe’s Behance Can Now Showcase NFTs Minted on Polygon

Adobe’s Behance creative social media platform is adding support for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) minted on Polygon, allowing creators to showcase work created on an eco-conscious and low-fee alternative to Ethereum.

Getting started is simple - creators connect their Web3 wallet to their Behance profile, and any NFTs they created can be displayed on their Behance profile. This integration with Polygon is  powered behind the scenes by Alchemy’s suite of products including the NFT API.

Polygon’s native support for OpenSea, one of the largest NFT marketplaces, will make it easier for creators  to source potential buyers of their NFTs. OpenSea already adopted Adobe's recently unveiled “Content Credentials” function, which allows creators to cryptographically authenticate their creative work.

Behance’s integration with Polygon represents the next step for the platform as it continues to support artists across the globe. The creative portfolio site recently added support for NFT functionality, enabling artists to add their NFT-based creations directly to the site. Since then, tens of thousands of Metamask wallets have connected to Behance, highlighting the latent demand to display Ethereum-based NFTs on the platform.

“By combining Polygon’s low-cost and composable network with Behance’s new NFT functionality, creators can take a holistic journey from design to showcase, all the way to the potential sale of the NFT,” said Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Polygon. “Allowing users to embrace this technology in an efficient and environmentally-conscious way stands to greatly augment the creator economy.”

Polygon uses an efficient Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism to mint and transfer assets, which drastically reduces the network’s carbon footprint. Minting a single NFT on Polygon produces about 66 grams of CO2, the equivalent of driving 0.26 kilometres. The vast majority of those emissions will disappear when Ethereum switches to PoS later this year.

The combination of reduced carbon footprint and low fees have made Polygon one of the main destinations for the NFT community. In the first six months since OpenSea’s deployment on Polygon in June last year, more than 5 million NFTs have been minted on the platform. Premier NFT collections choosing Polygon include the record-breaking Dolce Gabbana drop, Clinique, Leo Messi, Draftkings, Stephen Curry, and most recently, a mixtape by Snoop Dogg.
