Web3 is still in its early days and needs good dApps and projects that will take the technology to the mainstream audiences. At Polygon, we strongly believe in providing developers the platform and the tools to build the future. The Buidl It hackathon is our invitation to join in creating the next iteration of the Internet.

As a developer-first platform, we know the importance of collaboration. Finding your crew is paramount to building projects that kick. 

Starting June 15, you can join BUIDL IT solo and find a team —or your whole tinkering squad can sign up together. You’ll sync into a supportive community of programmers, designers, creatives, and hackers. Think about building the future of web3, while you scale a social and professional network, too

Newbies jumping ship to Web3 can take workshops, join tutorials, and find all the materials needed to make the leap. More weathered Web3 natives can push themselves to practice holistic design by deploying the toolsets of our partners. 

Even though markets are down, we’ve been doubling down on dev lifelines. To us, a bear market is also a build market, a buidl-together-#WAGMIonPolygon market. 

That’s why exceptional teams will have the chance to meet industry stakeholders, talk to gigabrain funders, and chat with seasoned developers. 

Prizes

And then there are the prizes. Teams have eight weeks to submit a project in the following tracks:  

• DeFi - Build the next generation of finance from DEXs, lending platforms to personal finance and payments solutions.
• Nfts - Combine creativity with engineering to explore numerous new opportunities in NFT based applications.
• Gaming - Create blockchain based incentivised gaming dapps to take the gaming experience on a whole new level.
• Tooling/Infrastrructure - Build the next generation of decentralized tooling and infrastructure to help web3 developer audience build dapps in a smoother experience.
• Social Impact/Public Goods - Build a dApp that addresses a social good topic.
• Web3 Integration with a Web2 Product - Make an existing Web2 application into a Web3 dApp.
• Designathon - Design a complete user experience that tackles some of the current prevailing problems with blockchain usability.

The top three projects will take home grand prizes of $50k, $30k, and $15k. 

As a cherry on top, swag and NFTs are available to mark the occasion, too. Every act of building is an accomplishment, and every participant is a member of our community. We’re here for you, because we are you. We’re the devs that built what we wanted to see in the world from the ground up.
