Lufthansa’s Uptrip Loyalty Program Takes Off on Polygon

Attention all passengers: Uptrip, a new loyalty platform from Lufthansa Innovation Hub in cooperation with Miles & More, is taking off on the Polygon PoS network.

Uptrip transforms trips into collections of experiences by rewarding travelers with NFT trading cards for every flight they take. Every collection requires different cards and, once completed, offers unique rewards that include business lounge vouchers, free miles and frequent traveler status unlocks.

Users will be able to choose from hundreds of cards of Cities (Lisbon, New York, Rio de Janeiro, Singapore and more), Airplanes (Airbus A320, Boeing 747, Embraer 190) and Specials (fly on New Year’s eve, cross the North Pole, etc). Users will connect their own wallets, such as Metamask, to mint, transfer and trade Uptrip Trading Cards as NFTs. Since the soft launch over 20,000 users have registered and over 200,000 trading cards have been issued.

Lufthansa Group, which includes Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, Austrian Airlines, and others, counts over 38 million registered members in its loyalty program Miles & More. Europe’s largest airline group is joining tens of thousands of decentralized applications and major companies like Adobe, Stripe and Robinhood that are already building on the Polygon network.
