The First RenVM Bridge is now live on Polygon!

RenVM enables the direct bridging of assets onto Polygon, for high-speed, low-cost txns.

Read the blogpost and tutorial from Ren Protocol here.

We are proud to announce that RenVM’s first direct bridge will support Polygon, giving users the advantage of faster transaction confirmation times and lower fees. With this integration, the RenVM Bridge has added support for Polygon on its platform, enabling users to bring assets directly to Polygon.

RenVM is an open protocol providing access to inter-blockchain liquidity and permissionless transfer of value between any blockchain. The RenVM Bridge enables users to deposit and withdraw native Ren-assets directly to Polygon without going through Ethereum.

Bridging assets to Polygon using the RenBridge

RenBride will allow users to bridge BTC, ZEC, BCH, and DOGE with other assets to go live soon after. The native assets that will be available for direct deposit/withdrawal on Polygon feature the following pairs:

$renBTC | Bitcoin (BTC) on Polygon

$renBCH | Bitcoin Cash (BCH) on Polygon

$renDGB | DigiByte (DGB) on Polygon

$renDOGE | Dogecoin (DOGE) on Polygon

$renFIL| Filecoin (FIL) on Polygon

$renLUNA | Terra (LUNA) on Polygon

$renZEC | Zcash (ZEC) on Polygon

The RenVM integration will put Ren-based assets to work on Polygon, allowing the addition of Ren-based assets on all dApps within the ecosystem, starting with Quickswap, Curve Finance, QuickSwap, Varen, BadgerDAO and more that will be added soon to the list.

Building Cross-Chain dApps on Polygon with RenJS

Third-party developers can now build Cross-Chain dApps on Polygon with the RenJS SDK. Get started here: https://renproject.github.io/ren-client-docs/ren-js

“The addition of Polygon support to RenVM will greatly benefit all stakeholders, providing more utility to Polygon and even more velocity through RenVM. We could not be more thrilled for this to go live as it will benefit all of DeFi.”

— Michael Burgess, COO, Ren Protocol

“The Ren Protocol has been a leader in bridging the gap between Bitcoin and DeFi, and we’re thrilled to have Polygon chosen as the first direct bridge integration for RenVM. We look forward to supporting and helping DeFi on Polygon grow, and bring greater access to Polygon’s DeFi ecosystem through the RenVM bridge.”

— Sandeep Nailwal, Co-Founder, Polygon

About Polygon

Polygon is the first well-structured, easy-to-use platform for Ethereum scaling and infrastructure development. Its core component is Polygon SDK, a modular, flexible framework that supports building and connecting Secured Chains like Plasma, Optimistic Rollups, zkRollups, Validium, etc., and Standalone Chains like Matic POS, designed for flexibility and independence. Polygon’s Scaling Solutions have seen widespread adoption with 350+ Dapps, ~121M txns, and ~1M+ unique users.

If you’re an Ethereum Developer, you’re already a Polygon developer! Leverage Polygon’s fast and secure txns for your Dapp, get started here.
