tl;dr

  • Uquid has integrated Polygon's Open Money Stack to power 1-click crypto checkout across Uquid's catalog of 178M+ products: digital goods, physical goods, NFTs, mobile top-ups, gift cards, bill payments
  • Shoppers pay with any token from any supported EVM chain, the Open Money Stack handles swap, bridge, and settlement in one signed transaction. Self-custodial throughout
  • Uquid joins Cash App, Visa, Mastercard, Revolut, Flutterwave, and DeCard on the Open Money Stack

Uquid, one of the leading global digital commerce infrastructures powered by stablecoin rails, has integrated the orchestration layer of Polygon's Open Money Stack to let shoppers complete checkout in 1-click from any token on any supported EVM chain.

The cross-chain orchestration layer inside the Open Money Stack handles swap and bridge routing in the background. Uquid receives the asset it expects, on the chain it expects. The shopper signs once.

The integration extends a Polygon collaboration with Uquid that began in 2022, when Uquid first added Polygon as a supported checkout network. The Open Money Stack now replaces that manual flow with fully automated cross-chain routing.

With the Open Money Stack now powering the routing, every supported token on every supported chain is a valid payment method, without the shopper having to swap or bridge by hand.

Why this matters for crypto commerce

Crypto checkout has a quiet failure mode. A shopper has the balance to buy. The balance is the wrong token, or it's on the wrong chain, or both. They have to swap on a DEX, bridge to the merchant's chain, find a gas token they don't already hold, and come back. Most don't. That's the gap the Open Money Stack closes. The shopper picks the product, picks the asset they want to pay with, and signs. The Open Money Stack's cross-chain orchestration layer composes the swap, the bridge, and the delivery into one routed transaction. The shopper never opens a DEX. The shopper never bridges by hand. This is the same orchestration layer we extended in April to support credit card to onchain in 1-click, and the same one the Open Money Stack entered technical preview with in June. Uquid is the first consumer commerce platform at this scale to put it directly behind a shopping cart.

What changes for an Uquid shopper

A single checkout flow:

  1. Shopper picks a product in Uquid's catalog (178M+ items across digital, physical, NFTs, gift cards, mobile top-ups, bill payments)
  2. Shopper picks the asset and chain they want to pay with
  3. The Open Money Stack routes the funds: swap if needed, bridge if needed, delivered in the asset and chain Uquid settles in
  4. Uquid fulfills the order

Self-custodial throughout. No intermediary takes custody mid-flow. Nobody at Polygon Labs can redirect the funds. The destination is enforced by the contracts.

Uquid joins the Open Money Stack on Polygon

Uquid is now on the same rails carrying stablecoin volume for the largest payment networks in the world. Recent integrations on the Open Money Stack:

  • Cash App, 58M MAUs sending and receiving USDC over Polygon directly from their Cash Balance
  • Mastercard, expanding card settlement onchain to nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Visa, supporting Polygon on its global stablecoin settlement program
  • Revolut, users moving $1.3B+ in cumulative volume over Polygon
  • Flutterwave, Africa's leading cross-border payments infrastructure, selecting Polygon as default
  • DeCard, USDC and USDT0 payments at 150M+ merchants globally

The Open Money Stack unifies Polygon's settlement layer, wallets, cross-chain orchestration, and fiat ramps into a single API so institutions and platforms can build on enterprise-ready payments infrastructure without vendor lock-in. The same rails that move payroll, card settlement, and creator payouts now move a $5 mobile top-up at Uquid. For the shopper, this is invisible. They see a product, a price, and one button.

01

Do I need to swap or bridge anything myself?

No. Pick the product, pick the token and chain you want to pay with, and sign once. The Open Money Stack handles the swap, the bridge, and settlement in the background. You never open a DEX, you never bridge by hand, and you don't need to hold a separate gas token on the merchant's chain.

02

Which tokens and chains can I pay with?

Any supported token on any supported EVM chain. Whatever you already hold becomes a valid payment method. The Open Money Stack routes it into the asset and chain Uquid settles in, so the wrong-token, wrong-chain problem goes away. That applies across Uquid's full catalog: 178M+ items spanning digital goods, physical goods, NFTs, gift cards, mobile top-ups, and bill payments.

03

Who holds my funds during checkout? Is it self-custodial?

It stays self-custodial from start to finish. No intermediary takes custody mid-flow, and nobody at Polygon Labs can redirect the funds. The destination is enforced by the contracts, so the money lands where you sent it or the transaction doesn't go through.

04

What is the Open Money Stack, and who else builds on it?

The Open Money Stack unifies Polygon's settlement layer, wallets, cross-chain orchestration, and fiat ramps into a single API, so platforms can build payments infrastructure without vendor lock-in. The same rails carry stablecoin volume for Cash App, Visa, Mastercard, Revolut, Flutterwave, and DeCard. Uquid is the first consumer commerce platform at this scale to put it directly behind a shopping cart. Book a call for early access.
