Teams Building on Polygon Set New Record, Moralis Data Show
Projects using Moralis Web3 development platform are flocking to Polygon in record numbers, as developers vote with their keyboards for Ethereum’s leading scaling solution.
The number of teams building decentralized apps (dApps) on Polygon almost tripled every two months since mid last year and stood at 11,400 in January, according to Moralis data. That’s more than an 11-fold increase from just 1,000 in August.
The combination of low fees, ease of development and energy efficiency of Polygon PoS has sparked an adoption boom last year. The network attracted some of the biggest projects in Web3, from DeFi protocols such as lending platform Aave to luxury brands company Dolce & Gabbana and NFT marketplaces including OpenSea and Mark Cuban’s Lazy.com. Virtual worlds such as Decentraland and the Sandbox are also laying the groundwork for both the metaverse and gaming on the network.
Moralis data show that teams are not only signing up to build on Polygon in unprecedented numbers, their projects are also growing at a blistering clip. The number of Polygon API requests passed a record 30 million mark in December.
Polygon PoS adoption has soared exponentially, with a billion transactions recorded last year. The network’s more than 130 million unique addresses and over 2.67 million monthly active users now generate some 3 million transactions per day, more than double the volume of Ethereum.
Moralis gives developers access to a capable backend blockchain infrastructure that allows them to build and scale their dApps quickly. Developers can just get straight to work, leaving setup, management and maintenance of their blockchain backend to Moralis. That results in go-to-market time savings of 87% on average.
Signing up is free and offers access to the full suite of Moralis features. This includes the Moralis NFT API, which allows you to create an NFT marketplace, mint NFTs, or build an NFT trading interface.
