Calling All Web3 Developers: #WAGMIonPolygon
This is Dalip, head of Developer Relations at Polygon. These past few weeks have been tough on everyone in Web3. But when the going gets tough, the tough get building.
That’s why today we are announcing #WAGMIonPolygon, a new series for developers available on our YouTube channel. The program will focus on educational content, expert opinions and other developer resources. We will also be hosting a series of open conversations on Twitter Spaces, developer workshops and hackathons.
Taking a step back, it’s pretty clear that recent years have brought a lot of speculative investment into Web3. This mercenary capital has now left the stage. Although very painful, this marks a return to quality and a renewed focus on solid fundamentals, intrinsic value and capacity to solve real-life problems.
What are the characteristics of a quality project?
1. Solid fundamentals
2. A vibrant ecosystem
3. An ample product pipeline
4. Most notably, commitment to developer resources
We believe Polygon represents all of the above. And the core team is more confident than ever in its mission to bring a billion users to Ethereum and create a better version of the Internet. If you haven't seen it yet, check out the leaked internal memo from Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal where he talks about the strength of Polygon’s finances and our commitment to growth.
Our ecosystem reached a new milestone in late April with more than 19,000 dApps running on the network, a six-fold increase from half a year ago. Over the past few weeks, the team also announced a slew of new products, including Polygon ID, Polygon Supernets along with a $100 million fund, Polygon Avail, and Polygon Nightfall. And there is more to come.
If you are a developer and have been impacted by the recent turmoil or looking for a new start, here is a list of resources available to you on Polygon:
Polygon Academy
This is a free online school covering everything from Ethereum blockchain and smart contracts to getting started with building your first dApp. This is a good resource for beginners and advanced developers alike.

It will focus on building DeFi applications that use Polygon’s Layer 2 capabilities and Orbs’ Layer 3 infrastructure. Benefits for participants include mentorship, funding opportunities, and market exposure.
